Prevention/Check Up
Check-up examinations
Stroke and dementia are feared diseases, since they are frequently associated with serious consequences for our personal autonomy. Common to both disease groups is that certain factors and conditions may increase the risk of their occurrence. Luckily you can positively influence many of these factors. If you are concerned about one of these diseases, i.e. due to your family background, I would be happy to advise you in the context of one of the check-up examinations.
Stroke check-up examination:
This check-up includes:
- Assessment of current complaints and illnesses as well as family history
- Neurological examination, blood pressure measurement
- Laboratory tests
- BMI determination
- Duplex sonography of the brain-supplying vessels
- Advice on risk factors and treatment options
Dementia check-up examination:
This check-up includes:
- Assessment of current complaints and illnesses
- Neurological examination
- Cognitive tests (memory and cognition tests)
- Laboratory tests
- Electroencephalography
- Duplex sonography of the brain-supplying vessels
- Advice on risk factors and treatment options
It is useful if you bring a relative or a person close to you to this screening, since the third-party medical history can provide important information about the extent of possible memory impairments or other brain disorders.
